Frequently asked questions

  • How does UV tracking work? Soluvit combines Apple Weather with a high-resolution forecast model to show a live, cloud-adjusted UV index for your location, then estimates your safe sun time from your skin type, clothing, and sunscreen.
  • How accurate is the vitamin D estimate? Estimates are based on published research models that account for UV intensity, skin type, exposed body area, and SPF. They are wellness estimates, not medical measurements.
  • Why does the app need my location? To fetch the UV index, weather, air quality, and sunrise/sunset for where you are. Soluvit uses “While Using” access; during an active session it keeps tracking in the background so the countdown stays live.
  • Does the Apple Watch app need my iPhone? No. The watch app is fully standalone — it finds the UV, runs sessions, and warns your wrist on its own.
  • How do I connect Apple Health? Soluvit asks for Health access on first launch. You can manage it anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Soluvit.
  • Where is my data stored? On your device and — if iCloud is enabled — in your private iCloud database, which only you can access. Health data lives in Apple Health. See the privacy policy.

  • Widgets not updating Widgets refresh on a system-managed schedule. Try removing and re-adding the widget, and confirm location access.
  • Health data not saving Confirm Health permissions in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Soluvit.
  • Watch app can’t find the UV Make sure the watch has a network path (paired iPhone nearby, Wi-Fi, or cellular) and location permission on the watch.
